I own a book of 'universal' symbols used in India. Because of the low level of literacy and the incompatible languages, they use symbols to a massive level for seemingly un-symbolable items. (Like, seriously: amusement-park death-train!)

I think you've mentioned this book to me before - do you have any of it scanned or anything? Meanwhile, I'm still trying to imagine a use for that horse skeleton icon.
